I have found the absolute perfect baking activity to do with a little boy! Peppermint bark. It is the perfect treat to make with a wild little boy who is full of energy on Christmas break. I saw the recipe on a cooking show while watching my direct.TV. The first step in the recipe is to crush the candy canes. I put some mini candy canes in a plastic bag, got my son’s plastic hammer from his toy box, and sent him to work! He had a blast crushing the candy canes. He was so serious about it as if it was his “work”. It was a rainy day so we couldn’t go outside to play and this was the perfect way for him to relieve some of his pent up energy. He was so proud as we took little baggies of the bark to our neighbors for Christmas gifts. He proudly exclaimed that he had “made it”! This treat will become a yearly tradition. I think we made 7 batches this year; he loved it so much. I will cherish the memory.

While surfing through looking for a good theme for my personal site, I came across the most wonderful and fantastical thing I could ever imagine and I simply had to have it. After a few days of looking at it crooked, I finally have it figured out and nearly ready to be released to you!
